Crack rock found inside baby's sock, cops say

Three Florida residents were arrested after authorities raided a house and discovered a trove of drugs, including a rock of crack cocaine inside a baby's sock, police said.

Charlotte County Sheriff's Narcotics, Street Crimes, and K9 Units investigators also turned up $3,126 in cash, 190 grams of marijuana, cocaine, and a stolen .25 caliber Beretta handgun, according to a police statement.

During the Thursday raid, sheriff's officials also found a supply of drug?paraphernalia?and preparation materials, including two digital scales with cocaine residue, one grinder with marijuana residue, 1,000 small plastic baggies, and a homemade smoking pipe.

Rodney Dewayne Rogers, 42; Alisha Denise Herrmann, 22; and Joseph Alan Cmehil, 50, were taken to the Charlotte County Jail, where they were each charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession?of narcotics equipment. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Rogers and Herrmann are still in jail on no bond due to prior felony convictions in narcotics. Cmehil posted a $4,500 bond and was released, according to a police statement.

Rogers has been booked in Charlotte County four times, while Herrmann has been booked nine times, according to police records cited in the sheriff's statement.
